Hash browns


Hash browns are traditional American breakfast dish made with shredded potatoes. I make is as an evening snack as it is easy to make and tastes yum. It can be made in less than 20 minutes with very few ingredients which are easily available at home. It can be made in different ways with slight variations in ingredients. This recipe is a no egg version. 

Ingredients

2 large sized potatoes
2 table spoon all purpose flour/maida
1- teaspoon Pepper powder
Salt to taste
Refined oil/ olive oil for frying

Steps

Step 1
Wash and peel the potatoes

Step 2
Grate the potatoes, wash well and squeeze the excess starch. Pat it dry with a clean towel. 

Step 3
Add salt, pepper powder and all purpose flour and mix well. 

Step 4
Take a spoonful of the mixture into hands and flatten into thin patties. 

Step 5
Heat oil in a heavy bottom pan and fry the hash browns one by one, till it turns golden brown. Crispy and tasty hash browns are ready to serve. 


Tips: 
This is a vegetarian version. You can also add beaten egg to the mixture.
